2022 Modifications

This Distribution Code modification was raised to consider any changes to the Distribution Code to implement remaining parts of the EU Emergency and Restoration Network Code that come into force in December 2022. The modifications will be considered as a joint Distribution Code and Grid Code Workgroup (GC0148). The working group will also consider any code changes arising from the Distributed ReStart NIC project. A public consultation was held on the proposed changes, with a copy of the consultation pack available through the link below.

DCRP/22/01/PC - Consultation Pack

Based on the feedback to both the Grid Code and Distribution Code consultations all the implications for distribution connected parties have been transferred to DCRP/MP/22/02 (below). There are no proposed Distribution Code changes now affiliated with DCRP/MP/22/01.

This Distribution Code modification was raised to consider any changes to the Distribution Code to facilitate the implementation of NGESO’s transmission licence change following the publication by BEIS of the Electrical System Restoration Standard. The modifications will be considered as a joint Distribution Code and Grid Code Workgroup (GC0156). A public consultation inclusive of Distributed Restart elements affecting the Distribution Code was released 12 December 2022.

This Distribution Code modification was raised to consider whether changes should be made to Engineering Recommendation P2 Issue 7 to allow the reduction of the minimum security of supply to customers supplied via high voltage feeders supplying demand between 1 and 10MW in a limited number of targeted situations. The public consultation on the modification closed 29 July 2022

This modification is being run in parallel with DCRP/MP/22/04.

DCRP/MP/22/03 - Decision Letter

This Distribution Code modification was raised to consider whether changes should be made to Engineering Report 130 which provides guidance to on the application of EREC P2, Security of Supply. A revised document has been prepared to co-ordinate with the proposed modification to EREC P2 Issue 7. The public consultation closed 29 July 2022.

This modification is being run in parallel with DCRP/MP/22/03.

DCRP/MP/22/04 - Decision Letter

This modification was raised to assess and provide guidance on Customer Islanding of single premises connected to the GB Distribution System and consider the required guidance relating to safe detection, operation and re-synchronisation of the installation once supply can be safely reinstated. This process must be available through a manual process for customers who wish to island their installations voluntarily. These requirements are proposed to be included into Engineering Recommendation G99.

This Distribution Code modification relates to the changes proposed to Engineering Recommendation (EREC) G12 Issue 4 Amendment 2. This version  was reviewed as part of the Technical Author Service (TAS) provided by Energy Networks Association’s (ENA), as well as additional comments received from Stakeholders as part of the previous revision to EREC G12 Issue 4. This modification included a public consultation on the proposed legal text and approval through self derogation due to the Annex 2 status of EREC G12. Public consultation ran between 13th February and 17th March 2023. A copy of the consultation pack is available through the link below.

After consultation this document was reviewed against any feedback received and approved by the DCRP in line with Annex 2 requirements as set out in the Distribution Code (v53).
